Get Involved - become part of a residents association

Being part of a Residents’ Association is a great way to get involved with improving your community.

Estates with an active Residents’ Association generally have an excellent reputation for getting things done for residents and for creating a strong sense of community cohesion.

Residents’ Associations will be aware of local service issues and we will work with them to find solutions and introduce local initiatives. Residents’ Associations receive funding from the Lewisham Tenants Fund. This money can be spent on community projects to benefit all residents living on the estate. It can also be used for fun days, outings and other events.

If there is not a Residents’ Association on your estate then why not set one up yourself?

Setting up a Residents’ Association is not as daunting a process as you might think! The Community Involvement team are here to help you at every step of the way and will continue to support you once the Residents’ Association is set up. We will also provide you and the other members of the Residents’ Association with full training so that you become effective committee members, and to ensure that you can run your meetings successfully.
